I Am Canadian
We talked in class today about Canadian patriotism and how it is beginning to get out of hand. What does everyone think about the direction Canadians are going with being patriotic? Do you think people's views on Canada are changing around the world? Why do you think Canadians have become like that?

I think this pretty much sums up part of the problem with patriotism.

We don't realize it but we are starting to become full of ourselves. We just assume that everyone likes Canada but in reality there are places that don't.
i agree with brandie.
it's hard not to think that Canada is the best because not many people have had the chance to live and experience another country and culture. we are getting a little full of ourselves.
I also agree with Brandie. I think that people believe that Canada is the best. But in reality we also have our problems. Canada is just as much in the wrong when it comes to being full of ourselves. We think that we are awesome but really we just havn't had much of a sense of other contries. We have just as many Hells as other contries, maybe not as bad as most but we still live in a society where there are many things wrong. Racism still being a part of the community.
While patriotism shouldn't be taken TOO far, I think it's really important to be proud of your country. If Canada had never made any efforts to separate themself from the United States in the past century, it would be a pretty different place.
Yesh i agree that canadians are starting to let everything go to our heads. We feel like we are o superior to everyone else, when we aren't. I think patriotism is a good thing as long as it doesnt go too far.
I agree with some of the comments that have already been made. I think that people have perceived Canada as a great place with good people but that opinion is starting to change. We ARE becoming full of ourselves. If we continue with this behaviour I dont think we'll be well liked.
