We read "The Inheritor" in class the other day, then we began to discuss analogies as to what the story might represent. We discussed, in class, the analogy of the sheep being a poor/homeless person, but what other analogies could you create for this story?

I think that the Ewe could represent Innocence like that of a child unknowing the dangers of the world but unwilling to accept responsibility , The Man a parent or just life's responsibility that life and our choices bring upon us or that are brought to us as we mature the Dingo the foulness of the world that loved ones try and protect us from.

I agree with Adrian asphyxia, children do not realize the dangers that the world brings. The man could be represented as a friend, family memeber, or parent who is trying to teach and protect the child, etc, from the dangers of society. The Dingo character could be presented as a money. Even though money is good, there is a responsibility to be held. If people do not save or balance there money, debt or loans occur. Money can make people make horrible decisions for unwanted necessities.

in a way i think that the dingo could of represent a person who is in all aspects good person but is lead down the wrong path. the reason why i think this is because in the story the dingo is just doing what its makeup it telling it to do, itd saying to him that to survive it has to kill the Ewe so in reality its not a bad person at all but has gone down the wrong path.
