Quotes

I found these two qutoes in the life of Pi and I thought they were really interesting. Do you think they are true? Do they make sense to you? Do they relate to life in any way?

"To chose doubt as a philosophy of life is akin to choosing immobility as a a means of transportation."

"That which sustains the universe beyond thought and language, and that which is at the core of us and struggles for expression, is the same thing. The finite within the infinite, the infinite within the finite."

I disagree with the first quote. If you don't doubt anything, you can't really open your mind. Doubt invites you to explore your thoughts on something. While it is important to have confidence in your ideas, questionning things doesn't hurt. Furthermore, choosing doubt as a philosophy of life is more like trying to go in multiple directions at once or being indifferent to moving, rather than "choosing immobility".

i totally agree with stepanie! choosing doubt as a philosophy of life is kind of an oxy moron. life is all about experiencing things and changing the way you view things.
