- The Kite -

After doing some thinking about what the kite and the snow actually mean in terms of "The Kite Runner", I began to wonder what other people thought - I always seemed to come back to the conclusion that these two items were symbols of Amir and Hassan's friendship.
Are there any other ideas on what this may be a metaphor of?

The Kite is a very strong (and pretty obvious) symbol for the friendship.

Yet I still haven't had anyone present clear evidence of the snow being a strong symbol for the friendship, or even proved to me that it really IS a deep, intentional symbol.

I can't say what else the kite might be a symbol of. It was one of the main things that Hassan and Amir did together so it's logical that it would represent their friendship. Maybe it has another significant meaning later on in the book. We'll just have to wait and see.
